Shorebirds

These watercolour illustrations (and the poster below) are part of an exciting community program to raise awareness of shorebirds and their habitats along the coast and estuaries of the Hunter and Manning regions.

The program is facilitated by the Hunter Region Landcare Network and Manning Coast to Tops Landcare Connection, in collaboration with Hunter Local Land Services, Birdlife Australia, Hunter Bird Observers Club, Department of Planning, Industry & Environment, and the University of Newcastle Conservation Science Research Group.

You can listen to the call of each bird by clicking on ‘Download’ on the right hand side of the play bar below each bird, this process will open a new window. This is a great way to learn their calls and recognise them in the field.
